Mrs. V.H. Scott returned from a few days’ visit with relatives near Rockville, Monday afternoon.

Mrs. Frank Clark of Clinton was visiting relatives at this place a few days last week.

Mrs. E.A. Hook and son James returned home Monday evening after a week’s visit with relatives in Charles City, Iowa.

Mrs. F. Sproull and son came in from Montrose, Monday for a visit in the home of her parents. Mr. and Mrs. C.M. Muldaugh.

Lee Carnes returned to Clinton Monday after a few days visit with his uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. R.A. Bellomy.

The ladies of the M.E. Church will serve ice cream and cake Saturday afternoon and evening in the Park. Everybody invited to this 4th of July social.

The W.M.S. of the Presbyterian Church will meet at the home of Mrs. I.N. Goodenough Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock. All the ladies are invited to attend.

L.T. and J.L. Padgett, brothers of our well known Hudson farmer, Jas. Padgett, are here from Indianapolis, Ind., for a several days’ visit. The three brothers came to town the other day and had their pictures taken and in order to make the trio look as near alike as possible it was necessary for our “James” to amputate his whiskers and when he came to town many of his friends did not recognize him at first.

Mrs. W.F. Maxwell returned from Clinton Monday, where she had been visiting relatives for the past few days.

Mrs. Addie Shoemaker and Mrs. W.O. Deupree, of the Ohio neighborhood, were business visitors in Clinton Tuesday.

Miss Alma Hall, of Rockville, was the guest of Miss Cammie Morgan from Friday until Monday.

Miss Pearl Landers returned to Rockville Monday, after having spent the weekend visiting home folks.

Miss Nora Wallace of Sheldon arrived the latter part of last week for a visit with her sister, Mrs. Harry Waller, and family, and numerous friends in this city.

Mrs. Henry Resz and granddaughter, Miss Edith Buch of Rockville, left Monday morning for Garden City for a visit with relatives and to attend the wedding of the former’s niece, Miss Lydia Schrock.

Mr. and Mrs. Harlen G. Myers, Misses Rachael Smith, Lydia Walkup and Melda Tippy, all of Deepwater, motored over to his city Saturday evening and were guests at the editorial mansion over Sunday.

W.W. Woolfolk, formerly a businessman and resident of this city, but now on the road as a treaveling salesman, was here Wednesday morning greeting numerous old-time friends. While in town he favored The Journal with a pleasant social visit.

Mrs. J.R. Bozarth returned to Clinton Monday, after a visit with her daughter, Mrs. Jake Luchsinger, and family. Mrs. Bozarth was accompanied home by her granddaughter, Miss Lorrelle Thompson, who has been a guest in the Luchsinger home for the past three weeks.

Mrs. B.F. Plympton of the Spring Grove neighborhood brought to this office Saturday morning, an apple blossom and an apple almost large enough for cooking purposes. They were both taken from the same tree and on this tree was possibly a hundred other blossoms and lots of fruit. This is certainly a freak. Mrs. Plympton brought us a fine bouquet of dahlias from her vast flower garden.

A card from W.D. Clark requests us to change his address from Claremont, Calif., to Long Beach. Mr. Clark has been a Journal reader for many years.

Mrs. Sarah Currier visited with friends in this city Tuesday. Mrs. Currier was en-route to her home in Schell City after a month’s visit with relatives in Clinton.

Uncle Pete Bigelow returned the first of the week from Sedalia where he was in the Katy hospital for a few days on account of injuries received last week while unloading freight.

The Missionary Society of the M.E. Church South will meet at the home of Mrs. Pete Smith Thursday afternoon, July 1, at 2:30 o’clock. A good attendance is requested.

Mrs. Nellie Masterson, formerly of Vinita, Okla., who has been caring for her mother, Mrs. Henry Wright, in this city for some time, left Monday for her home. They expect to move to McAllister at an early date where Mr. Masterson is employed in the schools of that place for the coming year.

Mrs. T.B. Pilant and three small daughters returned to Montrose Monday morning, after having visited since last Tuesday with her brother, N.T. Sims, of Rockville, and in the home of her sister-in-law, Mrs. J.W. Johndrow, near this city.

Mr. and Mrs. Pippenger, of near Deepwater, were business visitors in this city Wednesday.

John T. Davis, of Blackwater, Mo., was the guest of his daughter, Mrs. Walter Moore, Tuesday and Wednesday of this week.

Mrs. Mather and daughter, Margaret, arrived from St. Louis Monday for a visit with her mother, Mrs. Wilkerson, of the Ohio neighborhood, and other relatives.
