Pleasant Ridge:

Miss Cora Prier spent Wednesday night with Lelah and Rushia Rains.

Mrs. Ollie Varns is spending the week in Warrensburg.

Ruby Cook spent last week with Ruth Dean near Rockville.

The threshing machine is the neighborhood now.

Anna Prier, Ruby Cook helped Mrs. Charley Johnson cook for threshers Tuesday.

Mr. and Mrs. Mark Young and family, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Wix and son James, Gladys Holt and Ira H. Baker spent Sunday at the Robert Rains home.

Willie Padgett is the owner of a new Ford car.

Mr. Dillian helped George Wigger stack wheat last week.

Mr. and Mrs. Logan Rains spent the day Monday with Mrs. Rains folks, Mr. and Mrs. Ewing Bassett.

Vena and Ernest Rains spent Wednesday with Lucile Rains.

Prairie Home News:
Miss Mary Dains has returned from the State Normal where she has been attending school.

Harry Ainsworth and family, of Olathe, Kans., have been visiting at the home of their cousins, J.C. Barnett and family.

The Prairie Home Sunday School is giving another ice cream supper for the benefit of the Sunday school, Saturday, August 30th.

A.M. Hopkins and family and Mary L. Barnett attended the circus at Clinton last Monday.

Mrs. Fred Jackson and children of this city have been visiting her mother at Roscoe.

Mr. and Mrs. W.E. Moore is visiting some of her relatives in Kansas City.

Jim Barnett discovered that the little windstorm which accompanied the last rainfall twisted his corn which has a rather rank growth, and he immediately set about engaging L.E. Gurley to build him a storm cellar. Mr. Gurley began work on it Monday.

Every pupil of the Prairie Home district is anxious for school to begin.

Harvey and Emma Williams spent Thursday afternoon with their aunt, Mrs. Merl Sargent.

Ernest and Delbert Wigger are the proud possessors of new bicycles.

Mr. and Mrs. L. Phinney called on Jake Frey and wife Tuesday night.

Mrs. Francis Hall spent a few days last week with her sister, Mrs. J.W. Chitwood.

Mr. and Mrs. J.E. Harvey and Mr. and Mrs. Merl Sargent motored over to Rich Hill Sunday and spent the day with relatives.
