Appleton City, MO 3 November 1898 Ohio News Miss Loma Schaffner is visiting her cousin, Miss Stella Warner. G.Y. Pyeatt was circulating among political friends the first of the week. Edward and William Kneale attended to business in Osceola last Saturday. Sore throat and severe colds seemed to be quite prevalent through this part of the country. Dave Kepple, a former resident of this place, passed through last week on his way to Galena, Kansas. Short Caldwell and wife, of Sedalia, were here last week, called to the bedside of Mr. Caldwell’s mother who is very sick. Mr. Ed Inskip was married to Miss Howard, of Chalk Level, one day last week. The young people will live in the Ohio neighborhood. Miss Marty Strickland returned home Friday after an absence of several weeks spent with her sister, Mrs. C.C. Knowles of Harrisonville. The Christian Endeavor Society have a nice lot of Chrysanthemums which will soon be in blossom and the show promises to be a fine one. Mr. and Mrs. Al Johnson entertained a number of their young friends last Wednesday evening. Those present were: Misses, Stella Warner, Sue Williams, Ida Williams, Daisy Baker, Lila Wilson. Messrs, Joe Johnson, Joe Barker, Isac Warner, Ed Cherrington, Jim Strickland, Joe Howell, Mr. and Mrs. Rogers.
