RUTH NAOMI CHAPMAN
Ruth Naomi Chapman, 85, Lowry City, passed away Tuesday, January
28, 2003 in North Kansas City Hospital, after a lengthy illness. She
was born February 18, 1917, the daughter of Nancy and Jess Hooper.
On December 26, 1939 she married Jim Chapman. She was an active member
of the First Baptist Church, Lowry City.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 38 years;
her oldest daughter Kay Chapman Keeling; a stepson, Junior Chapman; a
great-grandson Michael Arnote; a brother, Floyd Hooper and a sister
Edna Hooper Jacobs.
Survivors include her daughters Sue Chapman Leiber and her husband
Bucky, Osceola; Maudie Chapman Higgins and her husband Don,
Independence; her son B.J. Chapman and wife Brenda, Ozark; step-son
Buck Chapman and wife Mary, Lowry City; and son-in-law Russell Keeling
and wife Anna, Lowry City.
She also leaves behind 16 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, a
host of great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Ruth was better known as "Munner" to her grandchildren and great
grandchildren, adn will leave a void in the lives of many.
Services were held Friday, January 31 at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist
Church of Lowry City under the direction of Sheldon Goodrich Funeral
Home. Rev. Jeff Ferguson officiated the services. Music selections,
"It Is Well With My Soul" provided by Tom Forman; "When The Roll Is
Called Up Yonder" and "Victory In Jesus" performed by the
congregation. Casketbearers were Rodney Leiber, Caleb Chapman, Adrian
Chapman, Sage Arnote, Chris Higgins and Michael Byard. Interment was
held at the Landaker Cemetery.
