WILLIAM RAY GRASS

Appleton City Journal, 2 November 1916
Died - At eight o'clock Thursday morning, October 26, 1916, William Ray, the infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Grass. He was just three weeks and four days old. His sickness was very brief, but the disease, Hemorrhage of the brain, was so serious that Death's Angel soon hovered around and took the little darling from our midst.
'Tis hard to break the tender cord,
When love has bound the heart
'Tis hard, so hard to speak the word,
We must forever part.
Dearest one we must lay thee
In the peaceful grave's embrace
But thy memory will be cherished
'Till we see thy heavenly face.
God in his wisdom has recalled the voice we loved to hear. Although his little body slumbers here, his soul is safe in Heaven.
