Doug Collins, 55, of Colum-bia, was born on Dec. 10, 1952, and passed away at his home on July 18, 2008, surrounded by family and friends.

Doug retired in 2007 after 35 years of service to CenturyTel. An avid sportsman, Doug loved hunting, fishing and spending time on the family farm.

Doug is survived by his wife, Judy, his three children, two stepdaughters, a sister, Beverly Breeden – El Dorado Springs, a brother, six grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Doug was preceded in death by his parents, Shirley and Ruby Collins, and a grandson, Luke Collins Lewis.

No formal services will be held. Celebrations of Doug's life will be held in Osceola from 6-9 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 9, at the shelter houses and in Ashland from 6-9 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 10 from 6-9 p.m. in Ashland City Park. All friends and family are invited to attend.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations for cancer research be given in memory of Doug.
