The many friends of James Cauthon of Dallas Township will be grieved to learn of his death, which occurred at his home near Catherine on Tuesday on last week, his disease being asthma.
Mr. Cauthon was a native of Tennessee, having been born in that state in 1823. He moved to Missouri and St. Clair County in 1845. Two years later he was married to Miss Elizabeth Burress. He became a member of the Baptist church at the age of 18 and at the time of his death held his membership with the King's Prairie Church.
The remains were interred on Wednesday at the churchyard. Rev. Wm. M. Love of Osceola being in charge of the services.Deceased leaves a beloved wife and eleven children, all grown.
