Per service record: Enlisted 23 May 1862. Richard L. Daniel's residence at that time was Fort Scott, Bourbon Co.,
Kansas. He mustered out of Co. G, 6th KS Cavalry on 23 August 1862. He apparently transferred into another
unit, or reinlisted, as his muster from service at the end of Civil War is listed as 22 May 1865, at DeVall's Bluff, Arkansas.
