TRAMEL, PIPER

I am looking for information about the killing of Major Sanford Tramel on May
12, 1898 by William H. and Rebecca Piper. The Pipers were tried and found not
guilty on 2 Nov 1898. I know there was an article in the St. Clair County
Republican on May 19, but I have been unable to find it on any online resource.
I'm guessing there would have been coverage of the trial in the newspapers also.
Any help will be greatly appreciated, Bruce Mayhall, Los Angeles
WEDDLE, LEWELLEN, GRAVES
Submitted 03/14/10 by Janice B. Patterson
Searching information about George Alexander WEDDLE, Margaret WEDDLE, Nancy
(Beaver, Weddle) LEWELLEN and Felix LEWELLEN, all buried in Lewellen/Berry/Green
Cemetery. How near to one another are these graves? Is there any way to "prove"
whether there are actual burials there or only stones marking death? Does George
Weddle's grave look old -- from 1860s?
Thank you.

Seeking information on Alonzo P. & Nancy K. (Dougherty)
Mitchell, who were living in St. Clair County, MO in 1875.
They had three children: Ellis Romanzo; Anna Elizabeth; and Mayme J. "Jennie
Hulda" Mitchell.
Mayme J./Jennie Hulda married Jesse E. Perkins and is listed on the 1900 & 1910
census for Butler Twp., St. Clair County. Jessie is buried in Landaker Cemetery;
Jennie Hulda is buried in Willow Springs Cemetery, Howell Co., MO.
Any information on this family is appreciated.

CRENSHAW
Submitted 01/27/10 by Cheryl Bell
Looking for information on Sarah Virginia Crenshaw, born 12 January 1826 and died 5 April 1850. She is buried in the Osceola Cemetery and has a tombstone.
1850 District 79 Being, St. Clair County, MO Census lists:
Zach Lilly, age 38 TN; Agathy L. Lilly, age 31, VA; Gabriel N. Lilly, age 12,
MO; Ellin G. Lilly, age 6, MO; Wm. P. Lilly, age 2, MO; and Wm. Nash Crenshaw,
age 2, MO. Living next door to this family is: John T. Crenshaw, age 30,
lawyer, TN.
Agatha L. Lilly was the daughter of Dr. Gabriel Penn & Elizabeth Madison (McClanahan) Nash.
Judging by the 1850 census information, it indicates that the 2 year old child, Wm. Nash Crenshaw may have been Agatha's nephew. My question is:
Was Sarah Virginia Crenshaw a sister to Agatha L. (Nash) Lilly; was Sarah married to John T. Crenshaw; and if so, was William Nash Crenshaw a son of John T. & Sarah Virginia Crenshaw?
Thank you. Any help is appreciated!
JOHNSTON
Submitted 01/02/10 by Morris Johnston
Our family came from the Bear Creek area of St. Clair county.
John W. Johnston was our Great Grandfather. His brother James R. Johnston was
Sheriff of Osceola back in 1872. Their Father was Joseph Johnston. Perhaps some
of his family would like to share the family history with me.
