Dr. C.S. Stratton, Lowry City Physician-- Dr. and Mrs. C. S. Stratton, with
their two children, moved to Lowry City from Roscoe, Missouri in July, 1919.
Dr. Stratton had an office on Main Street and practiced medicine in Lowry City
and surrounding community until his death (at age 89) in 1959.

MONEGAW SPRINGS:- Mr. Row took Mrs. Downey to see Dr. Stratton at Lowry City
Sunday. She is feeling better now.

Mrs. Dunn and Mrs. Paul called on Aunt Mary Rosbrugh Wednesday. She is some
better now. Dr. Stratton was called to see her Monday.

Mrs. C. S. Stratton left Thursday for a visit with her daughter Mrs. Clarence
Lindenmeyer and family of St. Louis.

Chas. Stratton, wife and daughter of Columbia, are spending the Christmas
holidays in the Dr. C. S. Stratton home, and were also a farewell, as he has
accepted work at Osceola and Pleasant Grove for the coming year. Friends in the
Coon Creek and Locust Grove congregation presented him a Schofield Bible. He
will reside in Osceola.
Mrs. C. S. Stratton returned Friday afternoon after spending several days at St.
Louis, assisting to care for her grandson, Stratton Lindenmeyer, who had a very
bad ear trouble.

Helen Ruth Vaughn Stratton, daughter of Maurice Brown and Margaret (English)
Vaughn, was born March 24, 1912, in Montgomery City and died at Clinton
Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center January 17, 2004, at the age of 91 years.
Helen Ruth was married to Charles s. Stratton, who preceded her in death. She
was a member of the first Christian Church, Clinton; the DAR; a charter member
of the Clinton Study Club; a lifetime member of the Henry County Historical
Society; a longtime member of the Clinton Country Club and she loved to play
bridge. She was preceded in death by her parents, Maurice and Margaret Vaughn;
her husband, Charles Stewart Stratton; her son-in-law, Thomas Boone McCune; one
great-grandson, Jeffrey Boone McCune II, as well as two brothers, James English
Vaughn and Maurice Brown Vaughn. She is survived by her daughter, Peggy McCune
DeLozier and husband Tracy, Clinton; two grandsons, Michael Stratton McCune and
Jeffrey Boone McCune and wife Annette, and one great-granddaughter, Jacqueline
Leeann Boone McCune, all of Florida. The funeral service was held in the
sanctuary of the First Christian Church, Thursday, January 17, at 10:30 a.m.
with Rev. Howard Cupp, Jr. officiating and Dr. Richard King giving the eulogy.
Pallbearers were Mike McCune, Jeff McCune, Bill Cason, Bill Roberts, Vance Gover
and Berry Beebe. Burial was in Englewood Cemetery, Clinton, under the direction
of Vansant-Mills Funeral Home, Clinton.
