Debt & Attachment Transcript from Justices Court
Now at this day Comes the plaintiff, by these attorney and it appearing to the Court from the return of the Sheriff upon the Summons in this Cause issued that the said defendant cannot be found therefore it is ordered that the said Alexander Moore be notified that an action of debt has been commenced against him by Philips Crow and Rodrick D. McCullock, for Eight Dollars and fifty six cents, that a writ of attachment has been found against his estate, and that unless he be and appear at the next term of this Court to be begun and held at the dwelling house of William Gash in the County of St. Clair on Monday the first day of August next, and plead to the action aforesaid, according to law, within the three first days of our said next term, Judgment will be entered against him and his Estate sold to satisfy the Same – and it is further ordered that a copy of this order be published in some newspaper printed in this state for four weeks successively the last insertion to be at least three weeks before the first day of said next term – and this Cause is ordered to be Continued untill the next term of this Court.

Now at this day Comes the said plaintiff by his attorney and it appearing to the Court from the return of the Sheriff upon the summons in this Cause issued that the said Defendant Cannot be found – Therefore it is ordered that the said Alexander Moore be notified that an action of debt has been commenced against him by Pleasant B. Cox as administrator of the Estate of Richard P. Crutchfield deceased for One Hundred and Thirty Dollars and seventy one cents. That a writ of Attachment has been issued against his Estate and that unless he be and appears at the next term of this Court to be begun and held at the dwelling house of William Gash in said County of St. Clair on Monday the 2nd day of August next and plead to the actions aforesaid according to law, within the three first days of the next term Judgment will be Entered against him and his Estate sold to satisfy thus same – And it is further ordered that a copy of this Order be published in some newspaper printed in this state for four weeks successively the last insertion to be at least three weeks before the first day of said next term – untill which time this Cause is ordered to be Continued.

Now at this day Comes the parties by their attornies and both parties bring ready for trial and neither requiring a Judge this Cause is submitted to the Court whereupon all and singular the virtue being heard and by the Court fully understood the Court doth find just for the plaintiff the sum of four dollars and Twenty Cents for his debt and damages. Therefore it is Considered by the Court here, That the said plaintiff recover against the said defendant the sum of four dollars and twenty cents for his debt aforesaid appeared together with his costs and charges by him about his suit in this behalf laid out and Expended, and that the said plaintiff have thereof his Execution.
