Whereas Alexander D. Moore and Kiziah Moore his wife both residents of the State of Texas and the County of Grayson in the said State are now on a visit to St. Clair County in the State of Missouri and Whereas Kiziah Cox, widow of John Cox dec., and Grandmother of said Kiziah Moore is desirious of procuring the Society of her said Granddaughter Kiziah Moore during the remainder of her life: and whereas for the purpose of inducing the said Alexander D. Moore & Kiziah Moore and to indemnify them for any expense and trouble they may be at to remove to within five miles and settle that near Mary Barnett, the mother of said Kiziah Moore in St. Clair County, Missouri. Therefore, Know all men by these presents in consideration of the premises and in consideration that the said A. D. Moore after going to Texas to arrange his business by or before the first day --March 1855 will return and reside during the remainder of the said Kiziah Cox's lifetime in St. Clair County, MO. I have this day bargained and sold and granted and delivered to the said Alexander D. Moore & his wife Kiziah Moore one negro woman named Hannah and her child named Aggy with all the increase of them with the express understanding that the said Moore & wife are not to sell or give either of the said negros to any person except on of the legal descendants of the said Kiziah Moore and it is further expressly understood and agreed by the parties to this agreement that the said Kiziah Cox is to have the privelege to make the house of the said A. D. Moore and his wife her home and in case of the death of either of them to have the privilege of making the house of the surviver her home during her natural life and to have the use and control of said negros so far as she may choose and at the death of the said Kiziah Cox, the said A. D. Moore and Kiziah Moore or the survivor of them or in case of the death of both of them to thelegal descendants of said A D Moore & Kiziah Moore are to have the said two negroes with all their increase. And it is expressly further understood that if the said Kiziah Cox should die during the time specified for the said Moore to arrange his affairs in Texas the said Alexander D. Moore & Kiziah Moore are to have the right to said negroe property, the same as they would have had the said Kiziah Moore resided within the said County. The said A. D. Moore binds himself, his heirs and executors to comply with all the stipulation in this agreement. In testimony whereof we have hereunto set our hands and affixed our seals this 2nd day of October 1854.

"This Indenture made this 21st day of August in the year of our Lord 1855 between A.D. Moore and Kisiah his wife of the County of St. Clair, State of Missouri of the one part and Kisiah Cox of the County and State aforesaid of the other part. ______ that the said A. D. Moore and Kisiah his wife for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred and sixty dollars to them in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged do hereby grant bargain sell convey and confirm unto the said Kiziah Cox her heirs and assigns forever all that tract or parcel of land situated and being in the county of St. Clair in the State of Missouri known as the South East quarter of the North West quarter of Section twenty five in township thirty nine of range twenty six containing forty acres more or less together with all and singular the appurtenances, thereunto belonging in anywise appurtaining. To have and to hold the above described premises unto the said Kisiah Cox her heirs and assigns forever and the said A.D. Moore and Kisiah his wife. The aforesaid promises unto the said Kisiah Cox, her heirs and assigns against the claim or claims of all and every person whomsoever do and will warrant and forever defend by these presents. In witness whereof the said A. D. Moore and Kisiah his wife, party of the first part, have hereunto set their hands and seals the day and year first above written.

State of Missouri, St. Clair:
This day personally appeared before me E. G. Odum an acting and duly commissioned Justice of the Peace for and within the County aforesaid A. D. Moore and Kiziah Moore his wife who are both personally known to me to be identical persons whose names are signed to the written deed and acknowledged the same to be their act and deed and that they executed the same for the purposes therein contained ad she the said Kiziah Moore being by me examined Seperate and apart from her said husband acknowledge that she relinquished her right of dower in the Real Estate therein mentioned voluntarily, freely and without any undue influence upon the part of her said husband. Certified under my hand this the 21st day of August A D 1855.

Whereas Kiziah Cox & A. D. Moore and his wife Kiziah Moore of St. Clair County and State of Missouri did by an agreement made & entered into on the 2nd day of October 1854. Wherein the said Kiziah Cox did express certain conditions therein expressed did bargain, sell, grant and delivered unto the said A. D. Moore & his wife Kiziah one negro woman named Hannah and her child Aggy. And the parties to the above named agreement by the agreement made and entered into this 21st day of Nov 1855 doth hereby mutually agree to make null and void the aforesaid agreement in each and every part thereof upon the following conditions: To wit, the said A. D. Moore and Kiziah for the sum of One hundred dollars to us in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged doth bargain, sell, grant & convey unto the said Kiziah Cox all our right title claim and interest to the said negros and it is further agreed and understood that this agreement is a full settlement of all demands up to this date between the said parties to this agreement. In testimony whereof we have hereunto set our hands and seals, the 21st November 1855.
