(my note: Other researchers show Johsua m. Nancy Ann Dykes Cole abt. 1852. This person is enumerated in 1850 in Dist. 79, St. Clair Co. MO and indexed as Nancy Keton 45, with 7 children and no husband The census seems to show she was married within the census year? This is not far from where Joshua lived. This is Nancy D. Cole who m. Wm. E. Keyton 27 June 1826 in Cooper Co.

In the St Clair County Missouri County Court Records 1841-1861 Joshua Dallas appears three times- 7 Nov 1856 not appearing for jury duty, 9 December 1856 for being on a jury and 1 Mar 1858 as a petit juror. In Records of St Clair County there are three guardianships listed for which Joshua Dallas put up a security bond (John Mettes, Wm Keeton and Joseph C. Reed) but no date is given.

The fam. is split up in 1860 with at least 3 children in St. Clair Co. MO, Speedwell twp.
Mary J. Dallas in the hh of Snowden T. Morris and fam.
Snowdenīs wife is proven to be Nancy Keith Dallas, dau. of Joshua

Malissa C. and Peter W. Dallas are in the hh of Hammond Morris and fam. Hammondīs wife is believed to be Susan Francis Dallas, dau. of Joshua.

Thank you for your query.

I did find Joshua Dallas in the Roscoe cemetery as having died 7 April 1879, just before the mortality schedule which starts in June. Next to him is a Polly Dallas age 27 years who died January 1849. Looking through the St Clair County Cemetery Book I did not find an entry for Mary Dallas. On the 1860 and 1870 censuses  I was not able to find Joshua or Mary Dallas although several of their children were living in other households. John Dallas appears in the 1870 with his own family.
(my note: I have no idea who the Polly Dallas buried beside Joshua could be. His wife lived past 1880 unless he married another Mary after 1850. Daniel Boone Dallas b. 1853 is proven to be his son, and he is living with widowed mother Mary Dallas in 1880)

Intuition prompts me to speculate that Daniel B. was born handicapped poss. due to parents age.
He never married and died of paralysis. It is somewhat unusual for the DR to be informant, especially since St. Clair Co. was full of Dallas relatives.
